2006 Consultant, Political Adviser to the Prime Minister of Kosovo. Prishtina, Kosovo.

2005- 2008 Election Observer. Tajikistan and Bosnia. Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODHIR).

2004 Consultant, Director of Communications, Independent Inquiry Committee into the UN Oil-for-Food Programme in Iraq, New York. Developed and implemented a communications strategy for an independent investigation appointed by the UN Secretary General and chaired by Paul A. Volcker on the UN managed sanctions against Iraq.

2003-2004 Political Adviser to the Kosovo Protection Corps (KPC) Coordinator, UNMiK, Prishtina, Kosovo. Counseled the Coordinator, Maj. Gen. Andrew Cumming, on all political matters touching on the reintegration of the disbanded Kosovo Liberation Army. Created a medium-term policy framework for the KPC (The KPC Plan 2004).

2003 Research Analyst, International Organization for Migration in Kosovo, KPC Team, Prishtina, Kosovo. Evaluated the existing reintegration program developed by the IOM for the KPC.

2001-03 Temporary Media Commissioner (TMC) OMiK-UNMiK, Prishtina, Kosovo. The TMC was the regulatory authority for all broadcasting and the press in Kosovo. Managed the Kosovo frequency spectrum and implemented the Code of Conduct for the Print Media; created a complaint-driven office with stronger emphasis on mediation than litigation. Planned the transfer of power from the Commissioner to the Kosovo Independent Media Commission.

1999 Information Officer, United Nations World Food Programme: Albania and Kosovo; Indonesia and East Timor. Daily press briefings; daily coordination and trouble shooting between Rome WFP headquarters and the field; arranged interviews with operation staff; took reporters on daily WFP helicopter runs to cover food distribution in remote areas; coordinated press coverage with NGOs.

2000 Producer, “Prishtina’s Nights” – a 30-minute investigative documentary on trafficking of women in Eastern Europe for the Italian TV RAI 3. Producer and Director, “The War Is Not Over,” a 33-minute documentary on Kosovo in collaboration with AesseVideo, examining unresolved conflicts in the region, including a profile of the divided town of Mitrovica, Serbian Orthodox monasteries under siege and changes in the lives of Albanian women.

1996-99 New York Correspondent, L’Unità, daily newspaper based in Rome. Covered breaking news as well as politics, culture and society throughout North and Central America. Regular contributor, La Stampa, Il Foglio, Marie Claire, Liberal, RTL 102.5FM and Italia Radio.
